Tulsa Fire investigators are looking into a suspicious fire at the Pomeroy Park Apartments near 68th and Lewis early Thursday morning.

Captain Stan May said they have a person of interest in connection with the fire. He said investigators have spoken to Kenneth Ferguson, 20, on the phone and would like to speak to him in person.

May said evidence of gasoline was found on the stairwell leading up the apartment where the fire started. He said the fire started on the door and the frame.

There were two adults and a 2-year-old child inside the apartment at the time. Firefighters knocked down the flames and kicked the door in and removed the three people safely. No one was injured.

In all, four apartments sustained damage, TFD said.

The Red Cross responded to assist the residents of those four apartments.

May estimated the damage from the fire to cost about $40,000.

Investigators are treating the fire as an act of arson.
