Bartlesville officials say additional security measures will be in place as students return to classes this week after the holidays.

Bartlesville Public Schools officials said Monday that police officers will be stationed in schools and classroom doors will have improved locks.

The school reviewed its security plans after 18-year-old Sammie Eaglebear Chavez was accused of plotting to shoot students at the school and detonate bombs to kill police. No one was harmed.

According to the Examiner-Enterprise, Superintendent Gary Quinn says there will be a "strong police presence throughout the district" when students return to classes Wednesday.
