Texas Tech Snaps Oklahoma State's Winning Streak

Posted: Updated:
STILLWATER, Oklahoma -

Texas Tech came to Stillwater Wednesday night and snapped the nation's longest winning streak, taking down No. 13 Oklahoma State 64-59.

The loss was the first for Oklahoma State since March 7, 2012.

Chynna Brown had 15 points to lead Texas Tech, and hit a tie-breaking three-pointer with 45 seconds remaining to put the Red Raiders ahead for good.

Kelsi Baker had 14 points and Monique Smalls chipped in with 12 points off the bench.

Oklahoma State was led by Tiffany Bias' 27 points, while Toni Young had a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds. The Cowgirls shot just 38.2 percent for the game.

Oklahoma State raced out to an 18-3 lead eight minutes into the game, but the Red Raiders slowly chipped away at the lead throughout the rest of the first half, taking the lead on a three-pointer from Smalls that made the score 23-21 in favor of Texas Tech.

The Red Raiders went into the locker room up 32-27.

Texas Tech led by as many as nine in the second half, but Oklahoma State battled back to take several small leads in the waning moments of the game before Brown's big three-pointer.

The road doesn't get any easier for Oklahoma State, as the Cowgirls have to travel to Waco, Texas to take on the defending national champions Baylor Bears Sunday afternoon. Tip time is set for 4:30 p.m.
