Police Arrest Suspect In OKC's First Homicide Of 2013

According to Oklahoma City police, at about 2:30 a.m. Saturday, officers found the body of a woman in the front yard of a home, located in the 2800 block of S.W. 63rd Street.

Police have arrested the suspect in Oklahoma City's first homicide of 2013.

According to Oklahoma City police, at about 2:30 a.m. Saturday, officers found the body of a woman in the front yard of a home, located in the 2800 block of S.W. 63rd Street. Police say the woman was stabbed to death.

Officers identified the suspect as David Dean Nichols, and took him into custody at about 8:46 a.m. Saturday at the 7-11 store, located at Tinker Diagonal and Scott Street.

Police say Nichols had cuts to his hands as a result of stabbing the victim. He was sent to a local hospital to be treated for the injuries, and was then booked into the Oklahoma County Jail.

Authorities have not released the victim's identity at this time.
