School Bus Involved In Accident Near I-35, 240

Emergency personnel responded to the scene of an accident involving a school bus near Interstates 35 and 240, Wednesday afternoon.

Midwest City ambulance and Oklahoma City Firefighters responded to the scene. It happened on westbound I-240 at the I-35 junction. OHP temporarily closed the I-35 northbound, I-240 westbound ramp.

According to OHP, the bus belonged to the Muskogee school system, and was heading down to Norman for the Special Olympics Winter Games.

Scanner reports indicated that there may have been up to 20 children on the bus at the time of the accident.

No word yet on how it happened. One person was treated for minor injuries.
