Stephen Broadhurst and Mackenzie Wahpepah-Harris have signed on to run cross country and track for Oklahoma City University.

Broadhurst, of Warrington, England, will join the Stars for the upcoming indoor and outdoor track seasons. He boasts personal records of one minute and 52 seconds in the 800 meters, 3:49 in the 1500 meters, 4:03 in the mile and 8:24 in the 3K while running for the Liverpool Harriers.

"Stephen will be a big part of our push to win a national championship here at OCU," OCU coach Conor Holt said. "We are definitely excited to welcome him to our team."

Wahpepah-Harris, of Norman, Okla., snagged a Class-6A title in the 3200 meters as a junior at Norman. He was named to the all-city cross country team after finishing third in the Class-6A state cross country meet as a senior. Wahpepah-Harris holds personal records of 4:23 in the 1600 meters, 9:25 in the 3200 meters and 15:30 in a 5K cross country race.

"I really look forward to coaching Mackenzie here at OCU," Holt said. "He will be a big part of our hunt of a national championship."

According to Wahpepah-Harris, he chose OCU for the coaching staff, great academics and because it was close to home.

OCU men's cross country finished fourth in the Sooner Athletic Conference Championships in 2012 and picked the program's first team victory in the Oklahoma City Fall Classic
