The No. 4 Oklahoma women's gymnastics squad swept Arizona State in every event, defeating the Gym Devils 196.700-193.625 on Saturday to improve to 2-0 on the season.

Sophomore Erica Brewer came back after not competing last week to take the all-around title with a score of 39.350. The Sooners also claimed all four individual event titles, including Madison Mooring on vault, Erica Brewer and Brie Olson on bars, Olson on beam and Spears on floor.

Oklahoma's 3.075 margin of victory was its largest in a dual road meet since a 7.575 margin of victory at TWU on Jan. 17, 2009.

"We want to get to a place where everything feels really comfortable and falls into line well," said OU head coach K.J. Kindler.

Competing third on beam, Olson set a career high with a 9.9. Brewer kept the momentum going, following up with a 9.925, the highest individual score on any event for the Sooners this season. The No. 2 beam team in the nation coming into the day totaled a 49.275 in the event, .075 higher than last weekend's score.

"Brie Olson and Erica Brewer had two of the best beam routines I've ever seen them do," Kindler said. "Those two in the middle really reeled in some incredible scores for us."

The Sooners shined on vault, totaling a 49.250 team score, with all five Sooner scores totaling 9.8 or higher. Mooring earned a 9.9, tying her career high, while freshman Haley Scaman earned a 9.875.

Coming into the day ranked No. 4 in the country on floor after scoring a 49.200 at No. 11 Georgia in the season opener, the Sooners scored even higher against the Gym Devils, totaling 49.225. Spears had a 9.875 and Mooring, Olson and junior Lara Albright scored a 9.85 to lead OU.

OU led after the first rotation on bars, 48.950-48.550. Brewer, who did not participate last week due to injury, tied Olson with a team-high 9.825 on the event.

"I thought we started stronger on bars this week," Kindler said. "We nailed some really good landings, especially at the beginning of the lineup. I thought the bar lineup overall did a nice job making adjustments and really going after it and being aggressive."
