The Oklahoma women's basketball team won an offensive track meet Wednesday night against TCU. Saturday night's game against Texas Tech was nothing like it, but it did have a similar result.

Oklahoma held the Red Raiders to a paltry 37 percent shooting while shooting just 40.4 percent themselves in a gritty 65-55 victory at Lloyd Noble Center.

Aaryn Ellenberg scored 26 points to lead OU, while Joanna McFarland had another double-double with 14 points and 16 rebounds. Nicole Griffin chipped in 13 points.

Texas Tech was led by Chynna Brown and Casey Morris, who each scored 11 points.

It was the Sooners' sixth straight victory since a 76-63 loss to Vanderbilt on Dec. 16. All of those games have come with just eight scholarship players on the bench for the Sooners, who find themselves 4-0 in Big 12 play, the only undefeated team besides Baylor (3-0).

The Sooners jumped out to a 15-7 lead on a layup from Sharane Campbell with 11:18 remaining in the first half. Oklahoma wouldn't score again for almost five minutes, and didn't hit a field goal until there was 5:38 remaining in the first half.

Neither team shot 40 percent in the first half, which ended with the Red Raiders in front 29-28.

After the break, with the score 34-33 in favor of OU, the Sooners went on a 14-3 run to open up a 48-36 lead with 11:34 to play.

Texas Tech responded, cutting the lead to four, 52-48, on a three-pointer from Chynna Brown with 4:48 remaining. Then Ellenberg took over.

The junior guard scored eight straight points, to boost the lead to 12, and then put the game away by hitting 5-of-6 free throws down the stretch. Altogether, Ellenberg scored the last 13 OU points.

The Sooners hit the road for their toughest test in conference to date when they take on Iowa State Tuesday night at 7 p.m. The Sooners have shown they can win in a variety of ways despite shallow depth, and if things fall right, Oklahoma could be challenging Baylor for a Big 12 championship.
