Dan Yancey.
SKIATOOK, Oklahoma -
The city of Skiatook now has a city manager. Skiatook's city council voted 4 to 1 Monday evening to name Dan Yancey as the community's first city manager.
In November, voters approved a change in government from a town to a city.
One of the changes was having a city manager verses a town coordinator.
Another change will come later this year when the current city council expands from five members to seven. Six of those council seats will represent a ward with a 7th seat to be an at-large seat.
That election will be April 2nd with filing period set for February 4-6th.
Dan Yancey, who is currently Owasso's police chief, will assume his new job on February 11th.
