A two-vehicle collision in Comanche County claimed the life of one person and sent two others to the hospital late Saturday night.

It happened just after 11 p.m. Saturday, on U.S. 62, just south of McIntosh Road in Comanche County.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a 1998 Ford Ranger driven by 63-year-old Larry Ronald Wilson of Elgin, Oklahoma, was southbound on U.S. 62, when it crossed the center line and struck a 2011 GMC pickup head-on. The GMC pickup, driven by 21-year-old Michael Darren Hall of Apache, Oklahoma, was northbound on U.S. 62 at the time of the crash.

Wilson was pronounced dead at the scene due to massive trauma, according to the OHP collision report. He was wearing a seat belt. Troopers say they did smell an odor of alcoholic beverage on Wilson.

Hall and a passenger in his vehicle were both pinned inside the pickup for about 40 minutes before being freed by the Wichita Mountain Estates Fire Department and the Elgin Fire Department.

Hall suffered arm and leg injuries, and was transported the Comanche County Memorial Hospital in good condition. The passenger in his vehicle was also sent to the hospital and was treated and released. Neither Hall nor his passenger was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

Troopers listed Hall's condition at the time of the crash as "apparently normal" in the OHP collision report.

The cause of the collision is listed as "left of center in marked no passing zone."
