Cowgirls Blow Away Cyclones

The No. 17 Oklahoma State Cowgirls opened the second half on a 20-0 run to dominate No. 24 Iowa State on Sunday in Stillwater.

After an 0-2 start to Big 12 play, the Oklahoma State Cowgirls are on a roll.

The No. 17 Cowgirls dominated No. 24 Iowa State on Sunday 71-42 for their third-consecutive victory, all have come by double figures.

ISU scored the first five points of the game and led for a good portion of the opening minutes before OSU went on a 10-0 run and never looked back, eventually leading 31-21 at halftime.

But OSU was just getting started. The Cowgirls came out of the break on a 20-0 run, holding the Cyclones without a basket for the first eight minutes of the second half.

Liz Donohoe led OSU with 18 points and eight rebounds in the victory.

Tiffany Bias had 12 points and 11 assists for the Cowgirls, while Kendra Suttles scored 12 points, and Toni Young and Brittney Martin scored 10 each.

Hallie Christofferson led Iowa State (13-3, 4-2) with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

The Cyclones' only other losses are to Iowa and No. 1 Baylor.

OSU shot 50 percent from the floor and 44.4 percent from 3-point range, while limiting ISU to 30.8 percent and 20.8 from 3. OSU also forced the Cyclones into 18 turnovers in Stillwater.

Next up for the Cowgirls is a road trip to the Sunflower State. OSU plays at Kansas State on Wednesday at 7 p.m. and will play at Kansas at 8 p.m. on Saturday.
