OTTAWA COUNTY, Oklahoma -
Thunderstorms toppled a high voltage power line Tuesday morning south of Afton.
GRDA officials say winds caused the wooden power pole structure to collapse shortly after 10 a.m. on January 29, 2013.
Grand River Dam Authority crews rerouted service around the downed 69,000-volt line and installed a new power pole structure by Tuesday evening.
GRDA officials say the structure was in the middle of a wheat field and the muddy conditions made it a bit of a challenge to get in to make repairs.
Officials say the power line provides a wholesale feed to retail suppliers like Northeast Oklahoma Electric Cooperative.
