Saturday's blockbuster matchup at Abe Lemons Arena between top five-ranked teams has been chosen as the NAIA women's basketball game of the week.

Third-ranked Oklahoma City University takes on No. 1-ranked Lubbock Christian (Texas) at noon Saturday at Abe Lemons Arena. The contest won a fan vote conducted by the NAIA on its Facebook page earlier this week.

The Stars meet Wayland Baptist (Texas) at 6 tonight at Abe Lemons Arena. OCU (16-2, 8-0 in the Sooner Athletic Conference) has rung up the NAIA's longest active winning streak in women's basketball at 15 games. OCU's last loss came 66-52 against Northeastern State, then ranked 23rd in NCAA Division II, on Nov. 10 in Weatherford, Okla.

In the last meeting against Lubbock Christian, OCU beat the No. 1-ranked Lady Chaps 79-68 on Jan. 10 in Lubbock, Texas. Desiree Jeffries, a senior from Oklahoma City, led the Stars with 19 points, nine rebounds, four assists and three steals.

Lauren Gober passed the 1,500-point mark for her career in OCU's 94-43 victory over St. Gregory's in Shawnee, Okla. Gober, a 6-foot-2 senior from Newcastle, Okla., scored 11 points to bring her total to 1,503 career points. Gober hit three 3-pointers to bring her 3-pointer career total to 271, which is OCU's career record. Gober averages 16.8 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.11 steals a game.

The Stars' Katie Hall is the reigning SAC women's basketball player of the week. Hall, a 6-foot senior from Hazelton, Idaho, leads the league in rebounding at 9.3 per game and has scored 1,171 points in her career. Hall leads the Stars with six double-doubles this season. Hall, along with senior Jessica Lankston of Kansas, Okla., followed coach Latricia Trammell from Western State (Colo.) by transferring to OCU for their senior years. Hall scores 12.6 points a game.

Lubbock Christian (20-1, 7-1 SAC) faces Mid-America Christian at 6 tonight at the Gaulke Activity Center in Oklahoma City. In 2011-12, the Lady Chaps dealt OCU its only defeat in the Stars' 35-1, national championship season. Lubbock Christian prevailed 88-66 on Jan. 12, 2012 at Abe Lemons Arena. All five Lubbock Christian starters scored in double figures.

OCU went on to win 60-51 over Lubbock Christian on Feb. 11, 2012 in Lubbock, Texas. The Stars ousted Lubbock Christian 85-56 on March 19, 2012 in Frankfort, Ky., in the NAIA Division I Tournament semifinals. OCU then triumphed 69-48 over Union (Tenn.) on March 20 to capture the program's sixth national championship.
