Drivers trying to find miniature horses running loose in southeast Oklahoma City may have contributed to a two-car crash on Interstate 40 near Harrah Road.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a vehicle crashed into the back of another in the westbound lanes around 9:45 a.m. One of the vehicles, a white pickup truck, veered off the road and crashed into some trees.

At least two people were injured in the crash. Ambulances rushed them both to a nearby hospital. At last check, they were listed in serious condition.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol had earlier warned drivers in the area not to stop and search for the horses. Several cars had stopped along the side of the highway, causing traffic tie-ups in the area.
