The mother of a Dewey man convicted of first degree murder in the death of his 15-month-old stepdaughter was sentenced Wednesday.

Juanchellee Fitch, who testified for the state during Marcus Mitchell's trial, had been charged with accessory after the fact, child neglect and enabling child neglect in the death of Emma Beth Warmberodt.

In exchange for her testimony, the DA's office reduced the accessory charge to obstructing an officer and dropped the enabling child neglect charge.

Fitch pleaded guilty to obstruction so the judge ordered her to serve one year in the county jail. On the child neglect plea, the judge sentenced her to 15 years of supervised probation.

The mother of the toddler, Ashley Mitchell, entered blind pleas to charges of child neglect and enabling child abuse in late January. She is set to be sentenced on April 3, 2013.

A jury convicted Fitch's son, Marcus Mitchell, of killing the girl. He's to be sentenced later this year.
