This Thursday marks one month since four women were murdered inside a Tulsa apartment.

"[I'm] just trying to accept the fact that they're not here anymore. Life is like a puzzle and when you don't have all the pieces anymore, you can't put it together anymore," Powell said.

Powell's twin daughters, Rebeika and Kayetie, along with Julie Jackson and Misty Nunley, were tied up and shot to death inside an apartment at Fairmont Terrace.

Rebeikah and Kayetie both left young children behind.

"She asked me the other day, ‘Papaw, why can't the angels find someone else to do what Mommy is doing, so she can come home for a little while?' And it just about kills you," Powell said.

Powell said he's relieved to get answers to questions he's had for the past month.

According to arrest reports, witnesses at Fairmont Terrace told investigators that brothers James and Cedric Poore said they were going to rob the women's apartment. Witnesses said the brothers returned about 20 minutes later with drugs, cash and jewelry.

James Poore told the witnesses he shot one of the women, because she could identify him and that Cedric shot the other three.

Powell said he feels sorry for the Poore family.

"My girls suffered, I know they suffered. They were tormented, you don't know what they had to go through that day, and I try not to think about that," Powell said. "Now their family is going to have to go through that and wonder what these boys are going to be put through."

Powell said he can't thank Tulsa Police enough for working so hard for a break in the case that shattered him.

The arrest report shows Cedric Poore denied being in the apartment the day of the murders. He's been in Tulsa County jail on a traffic violation since January 14.

James Poore was arrested Wednesday. He has served prison time for several counts of armed robbery.
