Since flu season began in September 2012, a total of 23 Oklahomans have died after contracting the flu. According to the agency, 798 people statewide, 76 more than reported last week, have been hospitalized with the flu during the same time period.
Tulsa County leads the state in flu-related hospitalizations (236) and flu-related deaths (6).Oklahoma County is second with 106 hospitalizations and three deaths.
Creek (32), Muskogee (25), Wagoner (20) and Rogers (19) round out the top five counties in hospitalizations. Creek, Muskogee and Rogers have also had one death reported.
