The Oklahoma Sooners jumped out to a fast start and never looked back against TCU Monday night, crushing the Horned Frogs 75-48 in Norman.

Things started well for the Frogs when they won the opening tip—after that, not so much, as it took TCU more than 11 minutes to score its first basket of the night. Meanwhile, OU built a 15-1 lead behind a balanced offensive attack.

TCU (10-14, 1-10) answered its drought by scoring on three consecutive possessions to cut the Sooners' lead to 18-8, but OU opened it right back up. Oklahoma ended the final 7:50 of the first half on an 18-3 run to take a 36-11 lead into the break.

The second half wasn't nearly as one-sided as it saw TCU continue to fight and OU take its foot off the pedal. The Sooners outscored the Frogs 39-37 in the second and cruised to the easy win.

Amath M'Baye led OU with 12 points while Romero Osby added 11 points and seven boards. The Sooners had seven players score eight points or more while no one took more than eight shots.

OU shot 50 percent from the floor and an impressive 14-14 from the free-throw line. The Sooners had nine steals while committing just seven turnovers. TCU struggled mightily, shooting 30.2 percent and committing 16 turnovers. Devonta Abron led TCU with 12 points and Kyan Anderson added 11 points on 4-19 shooting.

The bad news for the Sooners came after the game when coach Lon Kruger announced Buddy Hield fractured the fifth metatarsal of his right foot.  Kruger went on to say Hield will likely miss 4-5 weeks.  Hield scored eight points on 3-7 shooting Monday.

OU (16-7, 7-4) now has the rest of the week to prepare for the Bedlam rematch in Stillwater.  The Sooners defeated Oklahoma State 77-68 back on Jan. 12 in Norman.
