Oklahoma County prosecutors have filed charges against a former Del Crest Middle School employee accused of inappropriately touching a 13-year-old student.

Anthony Jerome Starks, 25, is charged with indecent or lewd acts with a child under the age of 16. According to a spokesperson for Mid-Del Public Schools, Starks was an hourly employee at the time of the incident.

According to court documents, Starks was monitoring students who were on In School Restriction (ISR) on November 28, 2012, when he sent one student to lunch early, leaving him alone with the alleged victim.

The 13-year-old girl told police Starks began massaging her neck and shoulders. She said he then put his hands in her pants and touched her buttocks.

The girl pulled away from Starks and ran out of the classroom. She went into a bathroom, and used her cell phone to call her mother. Her mother contacted police.

The victim told police Starks had previously made inappropriate comments, asking her if "she liked older dudes," and "if her boyfriend was a good kisser." She said he also asked her not to tell anyone about the massage.

Police interviewed Starks, who initially claimed the incident never happened. He later said while he did massage the girl's neck and back, he didn't put his hands down her pants or ask her inappropriate questions.

Starks has had previous legal trouble. In August 2011, Starks was arrested for attacking an Oklahoma County Sheriff's deputy at an I-HOP. According to court records, Starks pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery, and received deferred sentence.

Starks worked for Mid-Del from August 2012 to November 28, 2012. A district spokeswoman says at his time of employment, he met the criteria for background checks identified by the laws set forth by the State of Oklahoma.
