Oklahoma City Police arrested a 29-year-old man who ran into a Taco Bell, waving a gun and claiming there were people trying to kill him.

Restaurant employees called 911 around 10 p.m. on Tuesday to the Taco Bell at 2858 N.W. 23rd Street. When officers arrived, they found the workers huddled in the back. Police then located suspect Gabriel Rivera in the kitchen, holding a gun. They say he appeared to be intoxicated.

Officers ordered Rivera to put down the gun and lie on the ground. He complied, and police handcuffed him. Rivera told officers he was carjacked by three men who put a gun to his head. He said those men were sitting in his Chevy Tahoe in the parking lot.

Officers checked the vehicle, and found no one. They did find two firearms, a rifle and a shotgun. When they searched Rivera, they found nearly $2,000 in cash and a bag of black tar heroin.

Police say Rivera then changed his story and said the men broke into his house and robbed him. He claimed the men pistol-whipped him, and forced him to drive them around. He said when they pulled into the Taco Bell parking lot, he was able to escape and run into the restaurant. Rivera also told police he was worried because his mother was at the house.

Police arrested Rivera and booked him into the Oklahoma County jail on complaints of firearm possession in a commission of a felony, drug possession, possession of drug proceeds, public drunkenness, and destruction of property.

The next day, police went to Rivera's home in the 2500 block of N.W. 23rd Street to execute a search warrant. They did not find anyone at the home, but they did find what they call an arsenal of weapons that included 13 firearms, firearm parts, a silencer for a rifle and a large amount of ammunition.

Police say they don't know if the weapons were stolen or legally obtained, but they are worried because Rivera had so many.

"The major concern is the number of weapons," said Oklahoma City Police Capt. Dexter Nelson. "The weapons range in caliber from .22 caliber rifles to .50 caliber handguns, so it's a large array of weapons. They're high quality weapons. They're not the type of thing we like to see on the street, but we do know that people do own these types of weapons, and they do get stolen from time to time. We do not know how this gentleman acquired these weapons, at this point."

Police also found narcotics in the home. They say because the house is within 2,000 feet of a school, there could be additional charges.
