The state's top cops were honored for helping keep Oklahomans safe behind the wheel.
Officers, deputies, and troopers were recognized at the annual Buckledown Awards Thursday morning, in Tulsa, and Terry Hood was honored to emcee the event.
Awards were given for outstanding performance in categories ranging from seat belt enforcement to DUI prevention.
"We don't want the recognition, but really getting a pat on the back and saying thank you, it really goes a long way. It gives them that energy to go out there and make the streets safe," said Tulsa Police Officer Debra Dickens.
This marks the 20th year for the event, which has become the largest recognition of law enforcement officers in the state.
