No. 2 OU Softball Cruises Past UC-Riverside

Michelle Gascoigne struck out a career-high 16 batters in No. 2 Oklahoma's 7-0 win over UC Riverside at the Campbell/Cartier Classic in San Diego, Calif.

The shutout was the ninth of Gascoigne's career.

Keilani Ricketts and Lauren Chamberlain each homered for OU, and the Sooners have now hit at least two home runs in all six games this year.

Ricketts went 2-2 with a walk and drove in three runs. The home run was her second of the season and 37th of her career, tying her for sixth all-time at OU.

The Sooners continue play at the tournament against San Diego State. First pitch occurred at 7:07 PT. Oklahoma was up 4-0 in the top of the fourth inning.
