CHEROKEE COUNTY, Oklahoma -

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is working with the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office as it investigates what they are calling the "suspicious" death of a Cookson man Wednesday afternoon.

The OSBI says the sheriff's office asked for help after a family member found the body of Bradford Brooks, 56, dead outside his home on West Cookson Bend Road.

The sheriff's office was notified and deputies were sent to the home.

The state Medical Examiner's Office now has Brooks' body and will determine the cause and manner of his death.
