Sooners Squeak By Tech In Lubbock

OU connected on 6-of-7 3-pointers in the second half to outlast Texas Tech on the road in both teams' regular-season finales.

Texas Tech's seniors continued to make big play after big play. Oklahoma continued to answer and outlasted the Lady Raiders 77-73 on Monday's senior night at United Spirit Arena.

Oklahoma (21-9, 11-7 Big 12) secured third place in the Big 12 standings with its regular-season finale victory.

Aaryn Ellenberg scored a game-high 25 points and Joanna McFarland added 16 of her 18 in the second half as OU and Texas Tech battled through 17 lead changes.

The Sooners shot 56 percent from the field but struggled from 3-point range until the second half when they caught fire, hitting 6-of-7 in the second. Texas Tech shot 42 percent but made crucial 3-pointers and outscored OU from the free throw line 12 to 6 in the second period.

Nicole Griffin counted a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds and totaled a career-high four assists and season-high six blocks.

Christine Hyde had 22 points and Chynna Brown scored 21 on Texas Tech's senior night.

Oklahoma beat Texas Tech for the 16th time in the last 17 contests between the two teams.

The Sooners will next play in the in the Big 12 Tournament quarterfinals Saturday at 8:30 p.m. Central.
