Affordable hotels, family-friendly restaurants and an active music scene are among the reasons Livability.com ranked Tulsa number eight on its list of ten top Spring Break destinations for families in 2013.

The web site also mentions the Oxley Nature Center, Gilcrease Museum, Philbrook Museum of Art, Oklahoma Aquarium and the Tulsa Zoo as reasons for making the list. The top city on the list was Santa Cruz, California.

According to Livability.com, the top ten Spring Break destinations for families in 2013:

  2. Tucson, Arizona
  3. Portland, Oregon
  4. Omaha, Nebraska
  5. Indianapolis, Indiana
  6. Birmingham, Alabama
  7. Charlotte, North Carolina
  8. Tulsa, Oklahoma
  9. Boise, Idaho
  10. Cincinnati, Ohio

The web site says one other reason was the "Center Of The Universe" located on the pedestrian overpass on the north side of the Williams Tower in downtown Tulsa.
