Department Of Homeland Security Focused On Human Trafficking In Tulsa

Posted: Updated:
TULSA, Oklahoma -

The Department of Homeland Security says it is zeroing in on a number of crimes in Tulsa.

At a special briefing, agents told us some of the biggest crimes they investigate here include drug smuggling, international money laundering, child pornography, and human trafficking.

"The human trafficking problem is the modern-day slavery of crimes," said Special Agent in charge of investigations David Marwell. "And it is a problem here in Tulsa and we're actively and thoroughly investigating it each and every day."

Marwell said human trafficking is difficult to investigate because it often goes un-reported.
