Police say a "drinking party" at a retirement lead to a shooting, sending two people to a Tulsa hospital early Thursday.

Tulsa Police were called to the Shadybrook Retirement Community in the 4200 block of South 109th East Avenue just after 5 a.m.

Officers tell News On 6 four people were gathered in one apartment when they decided to end the party. They say one of the party-goers, a man, pulled a gun and shot another party-goer, also a man, in the stomach.

During a scuffle over the gun, the shooter was also shot in the arm, according to police.

The other two party-goers, a man and a woman, left and went to a nearby motel, where they called Tulsa Police.

Officers had to force their way into the apartment. John Cobb, 39, and James Littlejohn, 52, were taken to the hospital.

Tulsa Police say the handgun was recovered. No one else was hurt.
