Harold Wells.
DENVER, Colorado -
A federal appeals court is hearing arguments Thursday on why the conviction of a former Tulsa Police Officer should be overturned.
Former Corporal Harold Wells is serving a 10-year prison sentence after he was convicted of carrying a firearm during drug trafficking, conspiracy to possess and distribute meth, stealing $1,000 in U.S. funds, plus aiding and abetting in its theft, and using a communications facility to commit a drug felony, in 2011.
Wells was a 35-year veteran of the Tulsa Police force.
His attorney says he was a model officer who got caught up in the department's corruption scandal and his conviction should be overturned.
