Ashley Budde says there was no one like her mother. She would crawl on the ground with her grandchildren and beg to rock the kids to sleep no matter their age.

Robin Webb adored her grandchildren.

"She was amazing," Budde said with a sigh.

Budde has nothing but fond memories of her mother, a woman devoted to her family and called Gam'ma by her grandchildren.

Budde said that a day doesn't go by that she doesn't think of her.

"She was the best mom, the best nurturer that anybody could ever ask for," Budde said.

Webb died in October after a car crash at an intersection north of Claremore in Rogers County.

Budde was driving home with two of her children and her mother when another car ran a stop sign. Budde couldn't stop in time and crashed into the car.

The 18-year old driver of that car made it through with minor injuries, but Ashley's two children spent two days in the hospital after her mother died.

In the four months since that crash, Ashley has grown increasingly frustrated, and she can't understand why the driver who crossed in front of her that day has not been charged.

"From what I know, he's a good kid and he made a bad decision," Budde said. "But I do think that there is a consequence for your actions, and I think he needs to be held accountable."

A Rogers County Assistant District Attorney said charges may be coming in the future.

He said prosecutors originally wanted to file manslaughter charges, but because toxicology tests show the 18-year old driver did not have drugs or alcohol in his system, the statute doesn't allow it.

Now they're looking at a charge negligent homicide.

Budde said her focus now is on her children and keeping her mother's memory alive.

"I do engage them and let them know that mommy is sad…" Budde said. "We all loved Gam'ma, and that one day we will see her again in Heaven.

Negligent homicide is a misdemeanor and carries a jail sentence of no more than one year and up to a $1,000 dollar fine.
