2 Tulsa Firefighters Receive Minor Burns Battling Oakhurst House Fire

TULSA COUNTY, Oklahoma -

Two Tulsa firefighters were taken straight from a burning home to the hospital Monday night.

They were fighting the fire in the Oakhurst area of west Tulsa County.

Fire Chief Ray Driskell said the intense flames caught the crews by surprise.

"Two bedrooms were on fire. They went in and made an offensive, aggressive attack. A couple firefighters got in there, had a little bit of a flash-over inside, ended up getting a couple of our firefighters burned," Driskell said.

The Fire Chief described the burns as minor. As for the home, Driskell said it was a total loss.
