A group of Oklahomans met downtown Tuesday to make a call to arms in the fight for the ability to outlaw smoking.

State lawmakers snuffed-out a bill that would allow individual cities to write their own anti-smoking laws, but Governor Mary Fallin wants to take it to the vote of the people.

"Everybody, no matter where they work, has the right to a smoke-free work environment, and then for the health of the city, it will dramatically improve as well," said Paula Warlick, of Smoke-Free Oklahoma.

It would take 83,000 signatures on an online petition to get the anti-smoking proposal on the 2014 ballot.
