TULSA, Oklahoma -

Tulsa police arrested a man for leading them on a high-speed chase on South Peoria Avenue early Friday.  

An officer tried to stop a driver for a traffic violation about 1 a.m. on East Skelly Drive.

The driver took off turning onto Peoria Avenue and began speeding north before crashing into a tree and coming to a stop near 31st Street.

Police said the driver and a passenger exited the car and ran away. Police caught the driver after a five-block foot pursuit, but his passenger got away. A police helicopter assisted in the search effort.

Neither person was injured in the crash, according to police.
