A man from Chouteau, Oklahoma, was killed after he crashed his vehicle in Mayes County Saturday night.

It happened at about 11 p.m. at county road 426 and county road 51, about five miles west of Pryor.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, 49-year-old Allen Frailey was driving a 2003 Chevy SSR, southbound on county road 426, when he tried to negotiate a left curve and lost control of the vehicle.

The car eventually ran off the roadway to the right. It struck a tree and a ditch, before hitting another tree and came to a rest.

Frailey was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. He was pinned inside the car for an unknown amount of time before being freed by Osage Fire Department. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Troopers listed Frailey's condition at the time of the collision as "apparently normal" in the OHP report. The cause of the collision is listed as "unsafe speed on a curve/turn."
