BROKEN ARROW, Oklahoma -

Broken Arrow Police are looking for a hit-and-run driver who injured a Tulsa bicyclist and member of the military early Monday.

Specialist Brendan Simmons was riding his bicycle to work at about 4:30 a.m., on the way to the Armed Forces Reserve Center in east Broken Arrow when he was hit.

Simmons is on active duty with the U.S. Army.

The collision took place on eastbound State Highway 51 near the intersection of Nashville, according to Sergeant Ed Ferguson with the Broken Arrow Police. Simmons was thrown from his bike, coming to rest in a drainage ditch on the west side of the highway.

The 24-year-old bicyclist was taken to a Tulsa hospital where he is said to be stable.

There were no witnesses to the wreck, and police have no information about the vehicle other than it may have damage to the front passenger side. Ferguson said Simmons was wearing hi-visibility reflective clothing when he was struck.

"Broken Arrow Police are seeking any information possible about the vehicle and driver involved in this collision," Ferguson said in a news release.

"Anyone with information can contact Broken Arrow Police at 918-259-8400 or call Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COPS.
