Firefighters say flames caused about $50,000 in damage to a home being remodeled near N.W. 15th Street and Classen.
Firefighters rushed to the home around 3 a.m. Thursday and found flames shooting from the top floor. Three people inside had already made it out safely.
Crews say because the house was large and under renovation,it was difficult to battle the flames.
“The stairs were burned out from the first to the second floor,” said Oklahoma City Battalion Chief Tommy Iago. “That hindered us getting to the second floor, but we had to go through some windows [and] found stair access.”
Firefighters extinguished the flames in about 30 minutes. No one was hurt.
