BROKEN ARROW, Oklahoma -

Cowboys fans around Green Country cheered on their team Thursday night.

Orange was the color of choice, just like Oklahoma State was the team of choice, at the Fox and the Hound in Broken Arrow.

"OSU man. Of course, they're getting their butt kicked, but we're rooting for them," said Russell Claghorn.

That seemed to be the theme of the game. It was tough one to watch, especially because Poke fans said this was their season. With a couple of rough years behind them, the team had rallied back and made it to the Big Dance, once again.

"OSU is having a lot of trouble right now," said Ken George.

But despite the deficit on the scoreboard, Cowboys fans never lost faith in their team.

"We can do, we can come back, fire them up at halftime and go out and play like they know how to play," George said.

"We have to play better, but I think we're gonna make it," said Laurie Vandenborn.

Vandenborn was one of the few women watching the game at the bar. She's a stay-at-home mom, so skipping out on work Thursday was easy. She just took it up with her husband.

"He's my employer. I get to do the best thing in the world today and tomorrow, which is watch basketball," she said.

"I'm a big sports fan. This is the greatest two days of basketball, the Thursday and Friday of the tournament. I wouldn't miss it for anything."

Laurie's an OSU alum, with two sons going to school there now, she said seeing her team in the Big Dance makes the 'best thing in the world,' even better.

But the final score wasn't what the Pokes had hoped for.

"I'm still proud of my Cowboys. I love it that they made it to the NCAA tournament this year," Stan Schnider said.

Instead of celebrating a win, they're celebrating a season that took them to the tournament every collegiate team hopes to play in.
