Here is a look at the college baseball action across the state on Saturday:

OU Beats TCU As Oberste Breaks School Record

NORMAN, Okla. -- Senior infielder Matt Oberste hit safely in his 28th consecutive game to break the school record, helping the No. 16-ranked Oklahoma baseball team beat TCU, 3-1, and win its Big 12 Conference opening series Saturday at L. Dale Mitchell Park.

The Sooners (21-4, 2-0 Big 12) rattled off their ninth straight win and sealed the weekend series victory over the Horned Frogs (9-13, 1-4 Big 12). OU won the series opener Friday, 3-2, in 12 innings.

Oberste sent a one-out single through the right side in the bottom of the sixth inning to extend his hitting streak to a school-record 28 straight games dating back to the 2012 season. His streak breaks the previous record of 27 straight games with a hit set by Marty Neff in 1991.

Oberste has also reached base safely in 32 consecutive games dating back to last season. He leads the OU offense with a .474 batting average, .845 slugging percentage, .539 on-base percentage, 46 hits -- including 19 for extra bases -- 33 RBI and 26 runs scored.

Junior southpaw starting pitcher Dillon Overton fanned four over 5.2 innings of work and earned the pitching victory to improve to 6-1 on the season. Freshman righty Corey Copping tossed 1.2 scoreless innings in relief of Overton before giving way to freshman lefty Jacob Evans, who nailed down his fourth save of the season with 1.2 scoreless frames of work. Evans bailed the Sooners out of a one-out, bases-loaded jam in the eighth inning to preserve OU's 3-1 lead. He has not surrendered a run in each of his last nine appearances out of the bullpen.

Oklahoma jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the third. Freshman outfielder Craig Aikin coaxed a one-out walk, then stole second. He scored OU's first run by way of a single back up the middle by senior outfielder/infielder Max White. White stole second, swiped third one out later and then scored on a muffed throw by TCU sophomore infielder Kevin Cron at first base.

The Horned Frogs cut the OU lead to 2-1 in the top of the sixth when redshirt senior infielder Jantzen Witte legged out an infield single to second and later tagged up and scored on a sacrifice fly to right by sophomore infielder Derek Odell.

Oklahoma made it a two-run ballgame again in the home half, though, as Oberste hit his record-breaking single with one out, then scored on a single and a fielding error that allowed freshman infielder Kolbey Carpenter to reach second, extending OU's advantage to 3-1.

TCU threatened to turn the tide of the contest in the eighth by loading up the bases with one out, but Evans entered the game and struck out Odell swinging and got sophomore infielder Keaton Jones to fly out to left to extinguish the threat.

Oklahoma eyes its first Big 12 series sweep of the season when its hosts TCU Sunday at L. Dale Mitchell Park. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. CT. The contest will be televised live on FOX Sports Southwest Plus and FOX College Sports.

Cowboys Fall In 12 Innings

STILLWATER, Okla. – Oklahoma State had its season-long eight-game winning streak snapped Saturday as Baylor knocked off the 20th-ranked Cowboys, 5-3, in 12 innings at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium.

The Cowboys have nine comeback wins this season but, despite numerous chances, couldn't get another as they stranded 15 runners on the base paths and fell to 19-4 on the season. OSU and Baylor (11-12) will battle in the rubber game of the series Sunday at 1 p.m., with the Pokes looking for their sixth consecutive weekend series win.

OSU held the game's first lead after a Tanner Krietemeier RBI single in the fifth inning, but the Bears responded with a three run-rally in the sixth to overtake the Cowboys.

But the Cowboys rallied for runs in each of their next two at bats, getting an RBI single from Donnie Walton in the sixth and tying the score at 3-3 on a sacrifice fly by Zach Fish in the seventh.

Meanwhile, Vince Wheeland continued to dominate on the mound. The junior righty worked 5.2 scoreless innings in relief of Robinette, allowing just two hits and striking out five.

OSU looked poised to get Wheeland his sixth win of the season in the ninth. Aaron Cornell was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning, and Krietemeier reached on an error on a sacrifice bunt. Both runners then advanced on a wild pitch by Josh Michaelc to give the Cowboys runners on second and third with no outs.

However, Holliday's club could not take advantage. Michalec struck out Fish, and Crayton Bare then came out of the bullpen and got pinch-hitter Trey Whaley to ground into an inning-ending double play as BU third baseman Nathan Orf snared the ball and tagged Cornell at third before firing to first to get the Bears out of the jam.

OSU also mounted a rally in the 10th. Randy McCurry led off the inning with a single, and after a sacrifice bunt, Saulyer Saxon was hit by a pitch. But the Bears caught McCurry stealing after a pickoff attempt, and Gage Green struck out looking to end the inning following an intentional walk to Donnie Walton.

In the 12th, the Bears drew a leadoff walk against OSU's Brendan McCurry before an RBI double by Logan Brown plated the go-ahead run, which marked the first earned run McCurry had allowed in 10 appearances this season. BU added an insurance run on a bases-loaded error with two outs to make the score 5-3.

The Cowboys would bring the winning run to the plate with two outs in the bottom of the 12th, but Walton grounded out to end the game.

ORU Tops No. 23 UCA For Second Straight Game

TULSA, Okla. – Logan Domenico teed off for his first home run of his career on Saturday afternoon to help lift Oral Roberts over No. 23 Central Arkansas for the second straight game, 3-2.

Already up 1-0 heading into the bottom of the fifth, the Golden Eagles picked up the big hit from Domenico. Graham McIntyre led the inning off by reaching second after a throwing error by the UCA short stop.

Domenico followed, sending the first pitch of the at bat over the right field wall into the Golden Eagle bullpen for his ninth and tenth runs batted in. The sophomore outfielder finished the game with two hits and has nine hits in the past four games.

The Golden Eagles got on the board in the second inning when Matt Brandy singled in Jose Trevino who was standing on second following a leadoff double.

Brandy and Chris Williams each joined Domenico with multi-hit games, as they finished with a pair of singles. ORU finished with 12 hits total as each starter had at least a single, including Nate Goro, Kevin Cho, Austen Colt and McIntyre.

Drew Bowen earned his first victory on the mound as he struck out six batters, allowed six hits and one run in six innings pitched.

The one run allowed came in the sixth inning as Garrett Brown picked up a one-out double to center, scoring quickly as the next batter, Michael Marietta, singled to score the run.

UCA's second run of the afternoon came in the top of the seventh. Forrestt Allday drew a walk to start the inning, advancing to second when a pickoff attempted went into right field. Two batters later, Jonathan Davis singled to left to score Allday.

Much like ORU, the Bears saw their one through eight spots in the lineup record hits.

Nathan Garza entered the game in the eighth, after an inning from Alec Smith, to pick up the two-inning save. Garza struck out two batters, including the final out of the afternoon.

The Golden Eagles (7-15, 2-0) go for the series sweep over Central Arkansas (18-5, 0-2) on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m., weather permitting.
