No. 3 Rogers State dropped a doubleheader Friday to No. 6 Lubbock Christian at PlainsCapital Park.

LCU run-ruled the third-ranked Hillcats in both games Friday as RSU was held to just five total hits on the afternoon. The Lady Chaps claimed game one 8-0 as RSU tallied just four hits while committing three errors. The nightcap didn't see the Hillcats fortunes turn as RSU fell 8-0 with just one hit.

GAME ONE

The Hillcats held the hometown Lady Chaps scoreless through the first three innings before a Ashton Bell single through the hole at shortstop scored Courtney McGee in the bottom of the fourth.

In the home half of the fifth LCU plated a pair of runs after a leadoff double by Mallory Koschany. An error on a sacrifice bunt by McKenzie Clemmons scored Koschany from second pushing LCU up 3-0. A RBI single by through the left side of the infield moved Clemmons to third but an error by the Hillcats left field scored Clemmons as RSU trailed 4-0 after five innings.

A five run bottom of the sixth inning sealed the 8-0 victory for the Lady Chaps as LCU totaled 16 hits in game one.

Katera Eltsosie (17-3) earned the complete game victory allowing just four hits as she held the Hillcats scoreless. Eltsosie struck out five in the victory.

Laura Fleck (23-2) received the loss giving up eight earned runs on 16 hits as the sophomore pitcher fanned five in 5.1 innings of work.

GAME TWO

In the second half of the twin bill the Lady Chaparrals scored at least one run in each inning on the way to 8-0 six inning victory over RSU.

LCU dented the scoreboard with a sac-fly by Megan Sullivan in the first to lead 1-0.

The Hillcats looked to be in scoring position in the top of the second after a leadoff hit-by-pitch put Shona Guerrero on base and Taran Threet reached base on balls. A Fleck sac-bunt moved Guerrero to third and Threet to second. Desireé Ayarzagoitia reached on a fielder's choice as Guerrero was out at home. Ayarzagoitia was caught stealing to end the inning trailing 1-0.

In the bottom of second the Lady Chaps totaled three runs starting with a RBI double by Stephanie Rendon to score Eltsosie. A solo shot to center field by Bell pushed the lead to 4-0.

LCU added one run in the next four innings while holding RSU to just one hit, that on a single by Jamie King in the third inning.

Fleck (23-3) suffered the loss giving up eight runs, seven earned, as she struck out one and allowed 12 hits.

McGee (9-0) earned the complete six-inning victory allowing just one hit as she walked two and fanned one.

Guerrero went 3-for-4 on the day as the Hillcats totaled five hits as a team on the afternoon.

Rogers State (32-3, 8-2) will close out the regular season series with the Lady Chaps tomorrow as the doubleheader first pitch is scheduled for Noon at PlainsCapital Park.
