Cowgirl Signee Called To U.S. U-20 National Team Camp

CHICAGO -

Oklahoma State soccer signee Krissi Killion is one of 24 players who will participate in the United States Under-20 Women's National Team camp later this month.

Killion, who signed with OSU in February and will be a freshman for the Cowgirls next season, is one of 12 high school players and eight forwards called into the U-20 camp by head coach Michelle French.

The U.S. U-20 training camp will be held April 13-20 at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif. The camp will run concurrently with the U.S. U-23 Women's National Team camp, and those two squads will scrimmage each other on April 16 and April 19.

"We are very excited for Krissi — it is a tremendous honor for her to be invited in to camp with the U.S. U-20 National Team," said OSU head coach Colin Carmichael. "She is certainly one of the best forwards that I have seen in this age group, and I am sure she will make an immediate impact with the U.S. team. She has worked very hard and has earned this opportunity to shine at the highest level.

"We are extremely proud that Krissi will be wearing the orange-and-black of OSU soccer next fall. The experience that she gains with the national team will help to prepare her for her freshman year at OSU."

A three-year member of the Region III ODP team, Killion has also starred for TSC Hurricane '95 and coach Kerry Shubert for eight years. In 2011-12, she was the top goal scorer in the U-17 ECNL with 18 goals, and she also added 15 assists.

In 2012, Killion was selected to the elite ECNL/Nike National ID Camp in Beaverton, Ore., and she was named to the Best 11 all-star team at the 2011 USYS National Championships.

At Broken Arrow High School, Killion was named to the All-Metro first team in 2011 and was a Gatorade Oklahoma Player of the Year nominee in 2011 and 2012.

The top-ranked recruit in the Cowgirls' 2013 class, Killion came in at No. 14 nationally on the TopDrawerSoccer.com Girls IMG Academy 150 and was considered the best recruit in the South region. She was also listed No. 4 nationally among forwards.
