A judge dismissed the case Monday against a McAlester police officer accused of using a taser on a woman, while she was handcuffed.

Officer Sterling Taylor was charged in October 2012 with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Nakina Williams, of McAlester, was arrested in June of last year for public intoxication. In an affidavit, Taylor was accused of using his taser on Williams at close range, while she was handcuffed.

Williams was also charged with assault on a police officer and spitting on a police officer. She pleaded guilty and was given a three-year suspended sentence.
