Rogers State broke ground on its massive new dining hall with room for 1,000 students Tuesday.
The school says its part of RSU's transformation into more than a commuter campus.
Right now, 500 students live on the campus in Claremore, and the university has plans to add room for 250 more.

"It opens up a lot of growth. We're just on the cusp of offering our first graduate program, so we have to be able to feed those folks who want to be on campus, whether they're on campus as residents, or just visitors, or on campus as a commuter student," said RSU President Larry Rice.
Private donations will pay half of the building's $5 million price tag.
