Everything went to script Sunday night at the Academy of Country Music Awards until the end -- when Luke Bryan pulled off an amazing upset and won entertainer of the year.

Bryan beat out some of country music's top winners, including two-time winner Taylor Swift, in an upset that few would have predicted. The 36-year-old Georgia native recently began headlining his first arena tour and was the co-host of this year's show.

After an emotional speech, co-host Blake Shelton held Bryan up and joked that he won in his "first and last year as co-host" of the awards.

Bryan is the first male winner of the award since 2007 when Kenny Chesney won the first fan-voted award. Swift and Underwood have won two apiece since then.

Oklahoma husband-and-wife stars Shelton and Miranda Lambert won song of the year for their tearjerker they wrote "Over You." Lambert also took home the female vocalist of the year trophy.

In the performance of the night,  Oklahoman Garth Brooks teamed up with George Strait and the legends performed together for the first time in history, and to honor Dick Clark.

The performance by the two most recent winners of the ACM's artist of the decade award was symbolic. That award was renamed for Clark, the entertainment icon and longtime producer of the ACM Awards who died last year.

Brooks retired from touring in 2000 and just finished a three-year stint in Las Vegas. He has said he will put on a world tour "sometime" after his youngest daughter graduates from high school in 2014.

Strait announced last year that his 2013 tour would be his last, but he is not retiring from making music.

This is a Q&A session of things fans are asking about with OU and OSU football and the Oklahoma City Thunder. OU FOOTBALL Question: What’s this with the bad weather reports from Manhattan? Bill Snyder has been through approximately a zillion of these. Young Lincoln (Riley) exactly zero. Adds up to me as us starting in a two TD hole. Whatcha got?
