The Memphis Redbirds (5-4) used a four-run seventh inning to take the lead for good in a 10-3 win against the Oklahoma City RedHawks (5-5) Sunday afternoon in front of a crowd of 5,501 at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

The Redbirds added an additional three runs in the eighth inning, taking a 3-0 lead in the four-game series and keeping the RedHawks searching for their first home win of the season.

A three-RBI double to center by Redbird Adron Chambers broke a 3-3 tie during the top of the seventh inning and also helped hand Oklahoma City its longest losing skid of the season at three games.

Chambers led Memphis with two hits and three RBI. Chad Huffman scored three runs for the Redbirds who had a 13-10 edge in hits.

Trevor Crowe had three hits for Oklahoma City. Jake Elmore extended his hitting streak to nine games.

Memphis has now scored a combined 28 runs in the three meetings in downtown Oklahoma City.

Memphis grabbed the game's first lead. Brock Peterson's solo home run on a flyball to center – and into the RedHawks bullpen – gave the Redbirds a 1-0 edge in the second. The RedHawks have now allowed at least one home run in five-straight games, the longest stretch since a six-game stint Aug. 5-11, 2012.

The RedHawks took a 3-1 lead in the third. Back-to-back singles from Ruben Sosa and Robbie Grossman led off the bottom of inning. An RBI double from Elmore scored Sosa to tie the game, 1-1. Fernando Martinez, in Oklahoma City on a rehab assignment from the Astros, grounded out and Grossman grabbed Oklahoma City the lead. A Brandon Laird single scored Elmore for the 3-1 edge. The RedHawks had a chance to extend their lead on a Jimmy Paredes base hit, but Laird was tagged out at home on the throw from center.

A line drive single from Jermaine Curtis scored Chad Huffman in the fifth to cut into the RedHawks lead and Justin Chambers' single in the seventh tied the game, 3-3.

After Memphis opened up a 6-3 edge in the seventh, the Redbirds quickly added to their lead in the eighth. A RBI single from Curtis scored Huffman with two outs and Towles followed with a two-run shot, his second home run of the season, for a 9-3 lead. Oscar Taveras scored on a Garcia single in the ninth.

Memphis starter Tyler Lyons (2-0) struck out four and gave up nine hits and three runs in 6.0 innings for the win. Jorge Rondon was credited with the hold.

RedHawks starter Jordan Lyles struck out three and allowed five hits and two runs in 5.0 innings. Ross Seaton (0-1) came in during the sixth inning as the "second starter" and was credited with a blown save and the loss. He gave up seven runs on six hits in 3.0 innings.

The four-game home series with Memphis concludes with a 7:05 p.m. game Monday at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.
