TULSA, Oklahoma -

Tulsa Police arrested a man late Sunday after a series of incidents that ended with him carrying a sawed-off shotgun into the River Spirit Casino. John David Giroux, 35, is being held without bond.

Giroux has a long history of criminal convictions and served time for accessory to second degree murder.

Police say Giroux, also known as Lil G, attempted to kidnap a woman and her younger brother at the QuikTrip at 31st and Highway 169 at about 10:30 p.m. He pointed a shotgun at them and ordered them into his dark blue 2006 Chevy truck.

Police say he next confronted two people at the QuikTrip at 31st and Sheridan.

Police say Giroux caused a disturbance outside the Normandy Apartments in the 6000 block of East 38th Street at about 10:45.

A short time later, Giroux's pickup truck was involved in an injury crash on Riverside Drive near 61st Street, according to police. The condition of the woman driving the other car is unknown, but police say she followed Giroux's truck to the Sand Dollar Apartments in the 900 block of East 61st Street just after 11 p.m.

Giroux climbed on top of his pickup truck and fired the sawed-off shotgun into an apartment, according to his arrest report. No one was injured.

As officers arrived, they witnessed a pickup truck leave at a high rate of speed. Police pursued the pickup to the River Spirit Casino parking garage in the 8300 block of South Riverside Drive.

Casino security told police Giroux entered the casino with the shotgun. Officers arrested him there.

Police questioned Giroux in a patrol car outside the casino, and he told them he was high on methamphetamine that was laced with something making him act crazy. He had the shotgun planning to kill an associate, he reportedly told police, and wished they had shot and killed him because his life was over and he'd be returning to prison.

"We're still very early on in the investigation into why this individual took this gun into a casino. However, there are indications that this individual that we've apprehended possibly has a criminal record," said Tulsa Police Sgt. Thomas Bell.

Police booked Joseph Giroux into the Tulsa County jail on complaints of pointing a deadly weapon, possession of a sawed-off shotgun, carrying a weapon, attempted kidnapping, driving under the influence of drugs and leaving the scene of an injury accident.

He is being held without bond.

Giroux's mother told News On 6 that her son has been a meth addict for quite some time. His past mugshots show a dramatic change in his appearance.

Records show Giroux has a long criminal record including an accessory to murder conviction in 1998. He was convicted of assault with a dangerous weapon - a car - in December, 2009.

A search of court documents shows Giroux was charged earlier this month with breaking and entering. A west Tulsa homeowner captured Giroux at gunpoint after the man walked into the home without permission.

Giroux was charged in December of 2012 with breaking into a house and stealing a car, though the first degree burglary charge was dropped.

A protective order was filed in Tulsa County Court on November 26, 2012, by the mother of his child who said Giroux had threatened to kill her and other members of the family if she did not let him have his son.
