A Bartlesville judge followed a jury's recommendation and sentenced a Sperry man to four years in prison for the death of an Oklahoma Department of Transportation worker.

Deven Franklin, 21, was found guilty of first-degree manslaughter by a Washington County jury on March 1, 2013 in the death of Ira Henderson.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says Ira Henderson was struck and killed in November 2011 while part of an ODOT work crew on Highway 75 north of Ramona.

The judge ordered Franklin to pay a $50 fine each for convictions of possession of a controlled and dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

An OHP report said Franklin's car was traveling nearly 70 miles per hour when it struck Henderson.
