It was a good day for the state's college baseball teams, as OU, OSU and ORU all won. Here's a recap of Saturday's action:

OU All Over New Orleans

NORMAN, Okla. -- No. 10 Oklahoma (30-10) took advantage of strong winds sweeping down the plains to belt 10 extra-base hits in a 14-5 victory over New Orleans (6-34) Saturday at L. Dale Mitchell Park.

Senior left fielder Max White went 4-for-5 at the plate with two runs and two RBIs, including a solo home run in the third, and senior shortstop Jack Mayfield (2-5, two runs, two RBIs) hit an RBI double and scored on a sacrifice bunt in the fifth to put together the all the runs the Sooners would need for their second straight victory in the non-conference weekend series.

With the bases loaded in the first inning, White hit a normally routine pop-up into shallow right field, but the winds carried the ball away from the chasing defenders, allowing Matt Oberste to score from third for the first run.

OU starter Dillion Overton (8-2) struck out seven in six innings and bounced back after giving up a home run in UNO's three-run fifth to retire Privateers in order in his final frame.

Colt Bickerstaff led off a three-run fourth inning with a solo homer lifted over the left field fence by 20-plus mile-per-hour winds that sustained throughout the ballgame. Mayfield plated Garrett Carey with a double and Craig Aikin's sacrifice bunt scored Mayfield two at-bats later.

The Sooners had three consecutive extra base hits in the fifth inning. White doubled to left field and scored as Hunter Haley targeted the right field line for a triple. Hector Lorenzana doubled and then scored two plays later on a Carey single.

Oklahoma belted a season-high six doubles, two triples and two home runs as part of its most productive hitting performance in more than two years.

Golloway shuffled his lineup Friday and the Sooners responded, notably moving clean-up hitter Oberste, who is hitting 5-for-10 with four runs scored in the series, to leadoff.

Oberste singled in his opening at-bat for the second straight game and scored on White's blooper. New Orleans then turned its first triple play in 18 years -- just the third in the program's history -- the next at-bat as Hunter Haley lined to second baseman Zach Pohto who assisted put outs by shortstop Zach Liberto and first baseman Zacary Hawkins.

Oklahoma (30-10) and New Orleans (6-34) finish the three-game series Sunday at 1 p.m. OU's Ethan Carnes (1-1, 4.08 ERA) will take the mound for his second start of the season against UNO's Stone Speer (1-6, 5.40 ERA).

Cowboys rally to take series from K-State

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State scored twice in the eighth inning to notch their 12th come-from-behind win of the season Saturday as the 27th-ranked Cowboys knocked off Kansas State, 7-6, in front of a capacity crowd of 4,000 at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium.

Saturday's outcome clinched the Cowboys' second Big 12 Conference series win of the season as they improved to 7-6 in the league and 27-10 overall.

Zach Fish's solo home run with two outs in the eighth tied the game at 6-6, and three batters later, Saulyer Saxon delivered a single that brought home what proved to be the winning run.

After trailing by four early, the Cowboys turned to relievers Alex Hackerott and Kenton Bevacqua to stabilize things in the middle innings. And the southpaws were able to do just that, with Hackerott retiring a pair of batters and Bevacqua working 3.1 scoreless innings.

Down 6-2 in the fifth, the Cowboys rallied for three runs on a bizarre play to cut into their deficit. With two outs and the bases full, Randy McCurry lined a ball off K-State pitcher Levi MaVorhis' foot for an RBI single. But OSU added two more runs on the play when shortstop Austin Fisher threw the ball into left field and second baseman Ross Kivett was called for interfering with a base runner as the home team pulled to within 6-5.

Three innings later and with OSU down to its last four outs, Fish bashed his team-leading sixth homer of the season, a shot over the wall in left-center field to tie the score.

Up next, Trey Whaley, who was 3-for-4 in the contest, kept the inning going with a double before pinch hitter Corey Hassel walked to put Cowboys on first and second with two outs. That's when Saxon stepped to the plate and delivered an opposite field single through the left side, allowing pinch runner Jarrett Higgins to race home for the go-ahead run.

With a one-run lead, OSU's Vince Wheeland retired the Wildcats in order in the ninth to collect his Big 12-best eighth win of the season. Wheeland worked the final 2.2 innings and allowed just one hit to improve to 8-0.

OSU will look for its first Big 12 series sweep of the season in Sunday's series finale, which is set for a 1:06 p.m. start.

ORU clinches series win against SHSU

HUNTSVILLE, Texas – Drew Bowen got some run support on Saturday afternoon as the Golden Eagles rolled past Sam Houston State 7-2 to clinch the series.

Bowen went 8.1 innings and allowed just four hits in the ball game. He finished with four strikeouts en route to his second victory of the season.

The Golden Eagles improved their record to 13-23 overall and 8-6 in conference play. They moved into a tie for third in the conference standings with the Bearkats as they fell to 8-6 in conference action and 22-17 overall.

Senior Nate Goro struck again in the top of the fourth with a double over the center fielder's head to score Jose Trevino and Tyler Boss.

Trevino reached base two spots before Goro with a single to right and Boss drew a walk to set up the double.

In the bottom of the fifth, the Bearkats cut the ORU lead to 2-1 and eventually tied it in the seventh. In the bottom of the seventh inning, SHSU's Luke Plucheck tied the game at two with a blast over the left field wall.

The top of the eighth became the second big inning of the series for the Golden Eagles, scoring five runs on three hits and an SHSU error.

Matt Brandy started the inning with an infield single and advanced to second as Logan Domenico laid down a sacrifice bunt. After a pitching change, Brandy moved over to third on a wild pitch.

The Bearkats intentionally walked Trevino after the wild pitch, setting up a single to left from Boss to score Brandy. Goro then stepped in and drew a walk to load the bases for the Golden Eagles with just one out.

Following yet another pitching change for the Bearkats, Williams sent the first pitch deep to right to score Boss from third.

The inning continued with Brandon Healy at the plate as the Golden Eagles got creative with a delayed double-steal. Goro took off to second and Boss took off for home as soon the throw left the catchers hand. Boss beat the throw back home.

With Goro standing on third after he advanced on the throw attempt to get out Boss at home, Healy hit a grounder that was misplayed by the Bearkat second baseman. Goro crossed the plate on the play.

The fifth run of the inning came as Austen Colt doubled down the left field line to score Healy.

The final game of the series is set for 1 p.m. on Sunday.
