Attempted Carjacking Turns Fatal In SW OKC

A woman was killed Thursday morning during an attempted carjacking at a southwest Oklahoma City motel, police say.

The report of a homicide came in just after 7 a.m. It happened in the parking lot of the Quality Inn Motel near Interstate 240 and Western.

Police say two women who were staying at the motel were walking out to their car when a man tried to carjack them. One woman was killed and the other was injured. The second victim is hospitalized and expected to survive. The victims' names have not been released.

Police say the carjacker ran away from the scene and has not been caught. Police are questioning someone but that person is not being called a suspect.
