The Annual Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon is set to take place on Sunday, April 28. Many Oklahomans are taking part in the marathon to remember those who lost their lives in the Murrah Federal Building bombing 18 years ago.

The memorial marathon will benefit the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum, located at 620 North Harvey Avenue. It has contributed over $4 million to the Memorial since it started 12 years ago, according to officials.

The marathon is also the largest fundraiser the Memorial has each year.

Here's a list of events scheduled for the day:

4:30 a.m. Early Start for Marathon only

5:30 a.m. Start Line: 6th and Harvey (runners begin lining up)

5:30 a.m. Prayer Service at the Survivor Tree

5:30 a.m. First Church Pancake Breakfast Opens @ the church at 5th & Robinson

5:55 a.m. Corral Staging of Chip Timed Runners on Harvey Avenue/Memorial 5K participants in the 6th Street Corral

6:00 a.m. Welcome and Introductions

6:15 a.m. 168 Seconds of Silence

6:20 a.m. Color Guard

National Anthem performed by Emily Sutton, NewsChannel 4 Meteorologist

6:25 a.m. Marathon Wheelchair Start

6:30 a.m. Marathon, Half Marathon, Relay (Timed Events)

6:45 a.m. Memorial 5K Start (6th Street Corral Opens to Harvey after Marathon start clears)

7:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. Finish Line Celebration featuring SquadLive at 4th & Broadway

8:00 a.m. Kids Warm Up with Rumble

8:15 a.m. Kids Marathon Start

10:00 a.m. Memorial Museum opens to visitors

Officials are asking runners to not bring back packs and duffle bags. Fanny packs are okay. Runners will be able to check their gear in the clear gear check bag provided at the race.

Oklahoma City police say they will increase their presence during the race, in light of the Boston marathon bombings that happened on April 15.

In support of those Boston runners who weren't able to finish the race, the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon has opened its doors to allow them to cross the finish line here in Oklahoma City.
