ANADARKO, Oklahoma -

Strong storms whipped through parts of Oklahoma Friday night. Wind and hail caused extensive damage in part of Anadarko from shattered windows to downed power line to roofs ripped off some of at least one home.

"All of a sudden it sounded like a little bit of hail and just within seconds, I just, glass started flying," said Cheryl Hobbs who lives in one of the hardest hit neighborhoods. "It didn't take that long but it did a whole lot of damage."

The Fouts seemed to have gotten the worst of it. Half of their roof was torn off the house. Marvin Fouts said the family has to find somewhere else to live. The Red Cross found them a motel room for the next three nights. Fouts said his family does not have insurance on the house and they have to start from scratch.

Hobbs, who lives just around the corning, woke up Saturday morning to get her first look at the damage. The western-facing windows on her van and house were smashed by hail. In her backyard, there was debris scattered and she didn't know where much of it even came from.

They all agreed that the cleanup will take a couple of days. Crews were around town Saturday afternoon working to restore power to some homes who were still in the dark.
