An Oklahoma County deputy ended up arresting a driver the deputy originally thought may be a witness to an unrelated incident.
The deputy was near Interstate 44 and N.W. 16th Street April 27, conducting an investigation. He saw a man driving a 1994 Acura Integra who may have been a witness so he approached the driver.
While the deputy was speaking with 21-year-old Michael Estevez, he noticed a small semi-automatic firearm in the center console. It was loaded, and Estevez did not have a license to carry the gun.
Estevez gave the deputy permission to search his car. During the search, the deputy discovered a second loaded magazine and two baggies of marijuana that appeared to be packaged for distribution.
Estevez was arrested on multiple complaints, including possession of a stolen firearm, transporting a loaded firearm, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm in commission of a felony.
